Maybe my drawing is lousy. ” Bundy slammed the phone down. Dewey put the phone back in the cradle slowly. He trudged up to his room and lay on his bed, staring at the wildcat drawing. He wanted to rip it up and tell Bundy that he 46 wasn’t going to enter the contest either. But Dewey gured Bundy wasn’t likely to try drawing another logo–not after what Dewey had said about his cheetah picture. Man, thought Dewey. This stupid contest. Why can’t I be the one to draw the logo and Bundy be the one to be captain?

The eyes were erce. He drew the mouth so that the razor-sharp teeth showed. The body looked muscular, with four sturdy legs planted rmly on the ground. When he was nished, he sat back and looked at his drawing. It was a good picture of a lion. But somehow, it wasn’t right. He thought back to Bundy’s room and the team logos he’d seen there. His lion was good, but it looked like something you’d see in an encyclopedia. Not very exciting. He tore the sheet off the pad, wadded it up, and threw it away.
